I pass Dunston Staiths rather often as it’s on one of my cycle routes. It’s the largest timber structure in Europe and all routes seem to lead here, many paths were once waggonways and the one I use is currently being developed into the Tyne Derwent Way. So I often stop for a break and take a few photos. This day was a little bit more special, with the tide in and not a breath of wind, the Staiths looked stunning. I shot this with some expired film I’d been given, so I gave it an extra 2 extra stops exposure and hoped. This photograph was selected and exhibited at the Glasgow Gallery of Photography.
