Looking across Loch Linnhe towards Castle Stalker, a view often photographed and staying close by, I did too. Almost daily, a coach would arrive, everyone would get out and take photos, I was always quite amused by it all. One evening, after all had departed, I picked up my 6 x 9 pinhole camera and set up beside the loch. The tide was in, all was quiet and still, the late afternoon light was beautiful. I decided to add a yellow filter to deepen the blue sky a touch and metered the scene, I took one photo. I hadn’t noticed the lone cloud above until I developed the film, but pinhole cameras can often bring surprises. I’ll take credit for the filter though, it made the cloud pop out in the blue sky.
