Thornley woods is very close to where I live and from the Autumn onwards, I’ll often lace up my boots, grab a camera and head out for an hour or so. I’d photographed this scene quite a few times with different cameras and I just couldn’t resolve a number of issues that brought a satisfactory composition, it always seemed to be lacking something. That something, as always, was the right light and towards the end of winter, the soft morning sunlight brought the balance I was looking for.
