I was staying in a fisherman’s cottage on the shore of Loche Linnhe with a lovely view across to Castle Stalker. Everyday, people would park up and take photos of this iconic castle and when everyone had mostly left, I would head over and take a few of my own. On one of my last evenings, the light was lovely and the tide was almost in. I headed across and set up to photograph the light rays cutting across the landscape, then it began the lightly rain. I took this photograph and packed away quickly, it wasn’t the rain that sent me inside, but the first midges of the season and they seemed to be hungry.
